It’s your car, it’s your choice

Insurance companies have approved repairers that they will suggest carry out the repair on your car, but this doesn’t mean that you have to use them. In some cases the suggested repairer may not use manufacturer approved parts when carrying out the repair. This can affect the Manufacturer Warranty and possibly the resale value of the car.

In other cases the insurer may request you use a repairer who is based many miles away,  making it less convenient to arrange the repair.

In either case it is the car owner’s legal right to use their chosen vehicle repairer to ensure all repairs are carried out safely and in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
